Annaisms

My baby girl is turning 4 this week. And she's soon not to be the baby anymore, which only makes her seem older and more grown up. This little girl, who asks every night for a "hugakiss" before bed brings so much sweetness and laughter to our family. In honor of her upcoming birthday, I thought I'd share some of my favorite "Annaisms" from this last year of her life. I love recording this stuff!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A goodnight prayer: "Jesus thank you for this day. Thank you for wisdom. Thank you for helping me not say bad words, like 'butt cheeks' and 'shake your booty'. Thank you for a good night's sleep. Amen."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ While watching Cupcake Wars with a very tired Anna, she says in complete monotone, "This would be better if they were making cupcakes with beds on top." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I don't know what to eat for breakfast.
I guess I'll just have to eat cake.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Daddy, it is ok to fart in the bathtub, but it is not ok to pee in the bathtub
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Me: What do you guys want for lunch?
Reag: Lasagna and green beans.
Anna: Lasagna and a fork.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mommy, apple juice looks a lot like pee.
 Me: Anna, are you going to get married when you get bigger?
Anna: Yes I am... and I am marrying Daddy.
Me: You can't marry Daddy... I am already married to him.
Anna: But he's the best one! So that's my favorite choice.
This girl, who loves sweets almost as much as she loves her daddy, is growing up before my eyes. She told me the other day that this new baby is lucky because it will get to have TWO mommies: me and her. I think she's right about that. She has always been highly aware of the needs of those around her and seems to have a natural gift for seeing a need and taking initiative to fulfill it. I can't count the number of times I've sneezed only to turn around and see her expectantly standing there with a box of tissues. She's going to make a fantastic big sister, but for now, she's still my baby girl.
